Transforming Lead into Gold: Alchemy of the Mind
--Chapter 23: A Snake, A Sword & Skulls
"My mind did its best to understand, but the truth was I didn’t need to understand how anything worked. My thoughts historically had been my kryptonite, but now they begot wisdom. My thoughts now had the capacity to summon my mind and soul to do their work but then get out of the way."
MY MEMOIR
What are the secrets to thriving?
In God’s In A Box On My Dresser: An Inquiry Into
The Human Capacity To Thrive, I take readers
on my journey as I struggle with God and
religion while I traverse childhood
abandonment, sexual abuse, and an eating
disorder that almost took my life.
My memoir is a story of redemption as I
cultivate the capacity to take full responsibility
for my talk, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors,
clock disempowering narratives, and step
into my power.
I find healing, hope, and a transformed
relationship with God while living thirty days
on a little island in the Peruvian Amazon Jungle
where I ingested Ayahuasca, an ancient plant
medicine that was administered by Shipibo
Shamans. The snakes, caiman, a tarantula,
and other jungle critters become some of
my teachers as I delve into and heal memories.
My prayer is that this story will support others on their healing journey and offer support to loved ones who have witnessed, shared in, and even tried to protect a love one who has suffered. Together, may we step into our power and thrive.
